Nice guide to Molten core over at World of War's Forums.
"Molten Core is one of three 40 man designed raid instances. (Onyxia and Blackwing Lair are the others.) Molten core consists of a series of boss encounters, each of which can drop multiple epic [purple] items. When your character has reached the 60th level and you find the right group of players to coordinate with, you will at some point make your rookie trip into the core. The trick to being invited back is in how you behave on the trip. We’re here to help prepare you."
